Jacob Robert van Winkle​

NYOFF, the New York Odyssey Film Festival, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization dedicated to supporting independent filmmakers in New York and the Northeast. Founded by Jacob van Winkle, NYOFF provides a platform for local artists working on no-budget to mid-budget projects, with a special focus on uplifting New York-based filmmakers, as well as queer, BIPOC, and women filmmakers.

NYOFF has built a strong reputation for championing bold, original storytelling. The festival features competitive screenings, awards cash prizes, and fosters industry connections. A jury of film critics, industry professionals, and seasoned filmmakers ensures that each selected work represents the highest standard of independent cinema.

As NYOFF looks ahead to its five-year anniversary in 2026, efforts are underway to expand its foundation, strengthen partnerships, and build an even more impactful experience.
